Batik is one of the identities of this nation that must be respected, preserved and promoted like what Sukardi Rinakit said in nusakini.com 4 October 2017, "This is nation branding, this (batik) our identity, this is our unifier, this actually also the source of our economy ". From what has been delivered by Sukardi Rinakit the opportunities of the batik commodity are huge, but the process of making batik which requires a long time and a long process makes the amount of batik that can be produced are not as many as it should.

Reported by suaramerdeka.com Wednesday, September 19, 2018 that one of the batik craftsmen on KKampong Tematik Hasta Karya, Siti Kholifah, said that it took two to three months to produce hand-written batik. According to her, one of the factors that causes the production process took a quite long time is the material selection process and also the canting pattern process, which requires tenacity and accuracy. If the making of canting patterns can be done quickly it can make the batik production process shorter and the amount of production will increase. Desiring to assist in the productivity of batik cloth, the PKM Team in the field of Karsa Cipta, leaded by Galuh Wicaksono, with his members, Eva Fatmawati and Kevin Kurniawan, students of the D3-Electronic Engineering study program, the Electrical Engineering department with Ilham Sayekti ST, M, Kom as the supervisor succeeded in making innovative tools that can print batik patterns with an electric canting called SI CANTIK.

SI CANTIK (Electronic Bantik Pattern Printing Machine) is a prototype tool that is made to print batik patterns automatically which has a working dimension of 50 x 75 cm. SI CANTIK uses the Arduino Mega 2560 as the core of the processor, the stepper motor as an actuator, the CNC shield as the interface between the processor and actuator, and the electrical canting as a container for candles and the media to depicts the pattern of written batik to the fabric in the printing process of batik pattern. The tool is also equipped with a temperature sensor on the heater that serves to control the temperature value on the heater to remain stable, so that the batik wax issued from the canting remains the on same quality. From the reset results, the wax will melt completely (not too rigid and not too liquid) at 65-70 ℃.

This tool can work on patterns for 24 hours / once in a day, so that it can reduce the processing time of the printing process. This tool has advantages in terms of speed and precision in working on batik patterns. With these advantages, it can increase the productivity of batik craftsman. SI CANTIK has great potential to be developed as a mass product in this advanced era.
